My Sweet Lord, Just and True
I was outside in the garden thinking..... along these lines: 'If the King is the ruler, and Jesus is the King of Kings, how great must our King be?' Then I got to thinking about the governments of the world - how they are the rulers. How could we get to the point of pointing nuclear missiles at each other - if Jesus is our King. Jesus is the Prince of Peace - surely. I'm sure under his rulership the world could not be so hostile and defensive and protective of itself. Anyway, who actually is the ruler of this world is another question - to leave for another time.
When I came in from the garden 'My Sweet Lord' was playing on the radio - always loved it growing up - one of my favourite songs.
I don't know much about Krishna - beyond the usual picture/stereotype of Hare Krishna devotees.
I guess so many of us have an inner yearning in our spirit to find love and acceptance - faith and hope. "My Sweet Lord' by George Harrison always seemed to awaken that sense of yearning in me. Maybe that's just it - the lyric expresses sincere yearning,"...I really want to know you Lord, but it takes so long to find.....Krishna, Krishna..."
10And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. (Luke 8:10-12, King James Version)
