Should an Athiest Look to Jesus?

 Letter to an athiest concerning truth. Something compelled me to search google for athiest. I clicked on  number one search result for athiest. Interesting site. The site owner invited interaction and asked for visitors to challenge his beliefs. The following is the body my email attempt to say why an athiest may wish to consider Jesus as the significant person to look to concerning truth, and peace between people.

Dear ....,

Shared interests are global concern and the truth. I'm working on an idea. I just thought of a name for it! people unity project (pup).

Two versions:

* pup #1:

* Everyone should be free to live their own life

* Mutual respect is needed - everyone knows the golden rule

* Try to apply the golden rule when interacting with people

* pup# 2:

* Everyone should be free to live their own life

* Time for everyone is referenced to the birth of one person - Jesus, Christ, Messiah, Yeshua

* As far as we know, he taught two rules how to live - the two commandments.

* As far as we know, he said the second commandment ( golden rule ) is like the first one ( to love God )

* Mutual respect is needed

* Try to apply the golden rule when interacting with people.

* The first commandment is really a personal thing to decide.

That's about it!

A couple of side notes. I don't really have a bio - about me page, but if you want any info you're welcome to ask. If this letter is published on your site, I would prefer to go by my christian name - Robert.

The other note relates to the truth. If you'll excuse me using a bible quote - because I don't have any other reference to what Jesus may have said. It relates to the rational observation that the person Jesus must have been significant because our calendar points to his birth as being significant. As far as I can see, the bible quote most relevant to truth is Jesus explaining why he was born.

I'm trying get a common theme across. The golden rule seems like a good rule to live by for all people - athiest - christian - jewish - muslim - buddhist - new age - all people - all belief. My focus is on Jesus as the most significant person to teach us how to live together -  for one reason: Our system to reference time and history points directly to his birth in the flesh and blood - as a person who walked on the earth just like everyone before him, and everyone after.

WHAT OTHER PERSON, OR NAME DEFINES THE HISTORY OF MAN BY THE DAY OF THEIR BIRTH?

( Sorry for the bold capitals, but I had to make that point clear!) Anyway, from what I gather, Jesus, was lowly; gentle; meek and humble - trying only to help us for our own sake. I would like to take people out of church; doctrine; argument and debate; and have them focus on the golden rule. Also just to look to the Lord Jesus on a personal level. He is the person and name above any other I can see in the history of human life on earth.

Thank you, and peace.
